Our story began in 1981 on a quiet street in Penzance, where Don Chadwick opened a shop selling sturdy workwear to farmers, fishermen, and artists. Inspired by this coastal community, Don’s sons—Neil, Leigh, and David—dreamed of creating clothing that captured Cornwall’s creative spirit. And so, Seasalt was born.

Today, our team is a vibrant blend of textile designers, artists, and illustrators who bring imagination to life through every stitch. We believe clothing should be both beautiful and useful, crafted with care to be worn and loved for years. It’s this attention to detail and commitment to quality that has earned us a loyal following across the world.

From our family beginnings, we’ve grown into one of Cornwall’s largest employers, with shops across the UK, Ireland, the U.S., and New Zealand. But at heart, we’re still that small shop by the sea—creating timeless pieces inspired by the land, the coast, and the people who call it home.
